I was born in Japan
as an Army brat and spent my growing up years in Virginia, Maryland, and Northwest Ohio. I
spent my adult years in Florida and Idaho, then in 2008 I moved back to the Midwest to
Illinois, south of Chicago. I have been an artist for over 25 years, with experience in
acrylic, pencil, charcoal, ink and watercolor but have been painting in watercolors
exclusively since 2002. And, I love to take photos to paint from as well as photoart for
their interesting content, perspective and lighting.
I'm inspired by the landscapes around me in the various places I've
lived. They provide the subject matter for my paintings. My style tends to be realistic
and detailed, trying to capture the essence and beauty of each subject.
Future projects include exploring a more abstract, loose
style but including some details as well. I also plan on taking more photos in
different styles. Always looking for a new way of creating art that captures
interests and causes discussion and thinking. |
